Statistics: Russia’s deflation at 0.01% in August 10–Monday
MOSCOW, Aug 18 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price deflation amounted to 0.01% from August 10 through Monday after zero inflation in the previous week, and reached 4.48% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said late on Wednesday.
Prices for sugar went up by up to 5%, for sunflower oil and for poultry by 0.08%, for buckwheat by 0.23%, while prices for chicken eggs decreased by 0.64%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables decreased by 2% on average, with potato prices falling by 3.93%, tomato and cucumber prices by 3.4–3.9%, carrot prices by 7.57%, and cabbage price by 0.62%. But prices for onions rose by 0.09%.
